Art – Engelmarie Sophie told by Candice Ashby
Engelmarie Sophie and Candice Elizabeth Ashby; you may not know their names, but it seems that they have both something to offer you. In the beginning of this New Year I wish you to be touched by their Gift: A true passion about art.
You know, “art”, this strange concept, form and idea that so many people suffered to explain. Don’t misunderstand me, I am not wishing you fall into the “art trap” – don’t risk yourself to understand it, but simply feel it. It is only when you will be moved from the inside that you may find the unexpected.
I recommend to you all to read this article about the artist, Engelmarie Sophie written by Candice Elizabeth Ashby: Engelmarie Sophie: The Art of Duality where you may find an answer to those questions: What is to make art? and What is it to feel art?
Candice Ashby offers us here Engelmarie own vision of art – an experience of natural and human feelings but above all a wonderful way to feel alive and stay connected to the world surrounding us.
Enjoy the reading and have a nice 2012.
Happy New Year et Bonne année
Confucius Peace Prize for Putin
Funny day … and scary day
Vladimir Putin receiving Confucius Peace Prize… at first we laugh, and then we wonder what does China want? A friend?…
Should watch carefully this strangely growing friendship and this most confusedly respect between those two.
Berlusconi’s end in an Italian drama
Yesterday, Berlusconi was fairly forced by his government to announce that he will resign, today this announcement has lead to a deeper crisis in Italy. According to financial analysis and the last New york Times article posted on this issue:
“The move failed to convince investors, propelling Italy’s borrowing costs through a key financial and psychological barrier of 7 percent, close to levels that have required other euro zone countries to seek bailouts. “
After the Greek episode, that will be soon time for Italy to organise new election and propose a new government.
No more trust
The crisis in Italy is obviously different that the one in Greece, and Ireland, and is mainly the result of a society dissatisfaction towards their leader. In 2005, Sabina Guzzanti was already among others claiming the responsability of Berlusconi’s government corruption in her documentary Viva Zapatero and his control over Italian media.
Moreover the Italian Prime Minister has become a clown, and has focused its time to entertain people. Correlation between Berlusconi and scandalous affairs were done without surprise – “what was the last Berlusconi joke or bad move” became one most favourite drink discussion. Even Merkel and Sarkozi couldn’t hide their amusement, when two weeks ago at a meeting a journalist ask them and “what about Berlusconi…” they looked at each other, smile and did not pronounce a word. See video below…
The bad reputation
But seriously, the big question is today what will become Italy? Many are happy that the Cavaliere will leave, but how to celebrate when everything is falling apart? And after Italy who is next?
European future?
Berlusconi is today a black sheep in Europe but we all have to be careful and not confuse him with a scapegoat. Europe crisis is much complicated than this and the Cavaliere cannot be responsable for everything. So watch around you who is next to blame?

Satire/Blasphemy and Laïcité/ secular media
Définition du dictionnaire Larousse sur la “Satire”:
Écrit, propos, œuvre par lesquels on raille ou on critique vivement quelqu’un ou quelque chose”
Definition of Cambridge online dictionary about “Satire”:
a way of criticizing people or ideas in a humorous way, or a piece of writing or play which uses this style
Auto description du journal Charlie hebdo:
Charlie Hebdo, journal d’humour, satirique, politique et social, indépendant…
Self descripion of the newspaper Charlie Hebdo:
Charlie Hebdo, is a satirical, political and socially independent newspaper…
We don’t have to agree with Charlie hebdo’s headlines to understand that they were only doing their job; they were commenting the news in a real provocative way, yeah and? They are doing this everyday about every topics about different issues… “Yeah, but they went too far” will argue some people: “We don’t laugh about holy stuff!” they say.
Laughing about religions is a fundamental right – the right of blasphemy – Cambridge dictionary definition:
“something which you say or do that shows you do not respect God or a religion”
The right of blasphemy won’t disappear even after Charlie Hebdo’s newspaper was destroyed in a petrol bomb. As most of the French media ( Le Monde, Le Nouvel obs) we will support the freedom of speech and secular media with obviously warning about the stigmatization toward any minority that it could breed.
The rule is simple: We can laugh about everything as soon as we do it regularly about everything !
‘Indignant’ protesters set up camp in Brussels | euronews, world news
Protesters shouting at deaf media !
After the Arab Spring and the Spanish protests a la Plaza del Mayor – the youth movement of those called “los Indignados” (Les indignés) in reference to Stephane Hessel’s book “Indignez-vous” (translated “Get Angry”) has been spread in many countries all over Europe, and recently has occupied the American continent.
Slowly and slowly people are making noise and managed to occupied such place as Wall street without “at first” being even noticed by the media:
Let’s take a look at the evolution of the media coverage
…from none to .. some more… and maybe many more after the 15 of October?
1st video: 22/09/11 weeknight news and political commentary program that airs on Current TV, and presented by Keith Olbermann
The famous journalist Keith Olbermann criticized here the silence of the media, and take the opportunity to explain who are the Wall street protesters. He even mentioned his surprise about the way newspaper such as The New York Times has covered the demonstrations.
2nd video: “six days ago” CNN report on the Wall street protest after 2 weeks of media black out
CNN ignored for few weeks the crowd’s protests, but after such repercussions (movements growing day after day in different American states) , CNN has been obliged to cover it… But what make the media take so much time to react? Who is muzzling the press?
3rd video : “six days ago” A MOXnews video – Parody of Fox news coverage and lack of interests about the protests going on in the State
